New ASSAR paper on hydrogeological delineation of groundwater vulnerability to droughts in semi-arid areas of western Ahmednagar district
Renie Thomas, ASSAR researcher from Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR), published a paper in the Egyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Science. In Ahmednagar, rapid population growth has increased water demand adding stress on water resources. By using remote sensing and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), the paper assesses specific areas that are at risk of depletion. In addition, the most vulnerable communities were identified by categorising the study area from low to extreme. Read the paper here.
